I had a home in Africa...

I make no excuses for the deliberate mis-quoting of the opening line of the book Out of Africa by Karen Blixen!

Today we actually bought a Bush Camp!!! ---- Well to be exact we became majority shareholders in our bush camp in the South Luangwa Valley in Zambia - how mad is that?

I actually do own a Home in Africa!! - I have dreamed of this for so long and today its a reality!

The camp is located in the Lower Lupande Game Management Area, just outside South Luangwa National Park. Its secluded, remote and amazingly beautiful - our own little piece of Africa!

And now all the real planning has to start!! - we need to organise Permits, Visas, exporting a vehicle and our personal effects to Zambia and flights to say nothing of sorting out how we look after our home here in Wales when we're in Africa for the summer months from April 2020.

Once in Zambia, as well as completing the construction of our home, we want to expand the camp by building an additional two or three cottages plus as a bar and restaurant facility. This will enable us to offer a fully catered safari package to our guests from July next year. To ensure that we hit the ground running next April we need to source building materials over the winter - no mean task from 7475 miles away!.

I feel a project plan may be needed!!
