Its been a week since the construction team arrived on site and we are making good progress on both the house and the dining area.
The posts for the dining area are all concreted in and the wall plates attached - we can now see the view our guests will have from the bar and decking area
At the house, the walls are nearly completed and the window frames going in so its possible to actually visualise the layout of our home in the bush.
In amongst all of this activity we have still had some cool wildlife sightings from the property - wild dogs, elephants, giraffe and then yesterday a large herd of buffalo came to the river to drink.
We are getting used to sharing the space with the vervet monkeys and the local troop of baboons! - I have certainly learnt how important it is to shut the kitchen door - the vervets are never slow to spot when its left open and to use the opportunity to pop in to see what might be about!
Today we have left Malama Umoyo for a trip to Chipata to buy supplies and building materials - who knows we might even manage to check into a hotel with a pool for a little R & R
